Hi There! I’m Bernadette Verhiel, Holistic Nutritionist and founder of Papillonic Health
Bernadette Verhiel BSc, RN, CNP, ROHP
Bernadette is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, graduating from The Institute of Holistic Nutrition (IHN) with First Class Honours as well as completing a certification course in Clinical Iridology. She is also a Registered Nurse, graduating from Mohawk College going on to study Critical Care Nursing at South-eastern University School of Nursing and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from McMaster University. Bernadette is a current member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and member and volunteer with the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine. Her diverse nursing career has encompassed critical care nursing, co-ordination of cardiac procedures and a leadership role in complex case management.
Bernadette found her passion for holistic nutrition by experiencing her own personal health transformation though nutritional support and lifestyle changes. This inspired her to attend IHN and then establish a successful Nutritional Consulting career to benefit others. She works in collaboration with Medical Doctors as well as doing private consultations to optimize her client’s health through personal empowerment, diet and nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes. Bernadette’s practice covers the Orangeville, Orillia and Toronto areas specializing in digestive health, inflammatory conditions, and heart health.
In addition to her busy nutrition practice, Bernadette is very active in the Orangeville and Orillia communities. She keeps busy as a member of the Orangeville Toastmasters and keeps fit with the Orangeville Badminton Club. Bernadette’s goal is to inspire and educate individuals and health care professionals about the incredible power of nutrition.
“How ready are you for change”. It’s not about making dramatic changes all at once. It can be small, incremental changes and evaluations that make a big impact. Get to understand what your body is trying to tell you and what to do to make it happy.

The name Papillonic Health originates from the French word papillon that means butterfly and symbolizes transformation. At Papillonic Health our goal is to help our clients achieve greater health through supporting the body’s own abilities to heal and function optimally. Each person is an individual with unique metabolic, nutrient and dietary needs. Through in-depth analysis of symptoms, diet and lifestyle unique patterns emerge identifying these unique needs.
Tailored programs for each individual are based on identifying the root cause of health issues rather than just treating symptoms to promote health and well-being.
The Papillonic approach begins with a diet, supplement and lifestyle protocol unique to your individual needs including your physical and emotional well-being and environmental factors. As you transition to optimal health through diet and lifestyle modifications supplements can be reduced or eliminated as optimal nutrients are achieved through food intake.
